Have you had those breaks, where you have no idea what to do? And then, you spend the entire break THINKING what to do. Only to later realise your break is ruined...
Well, worry no more. Because we've just figured out what you're gonna be doing.
We've curated a list of the best 10 animes to watch.
Top 10 Anime Shows in 2025 for developers
1. Attack on Titan
Humankind constructs lofty walls to safeguard itself from immense creatures, the Titans. It battles to regain its land captured by the Titans which is not easy.
Attack on Titan is without a doubt, the absolute BEST anime out there. It is ranked as the most favourite anime on mal. The very first episode contains details from the last episode. It's as if the writers knew what they'd write on the last page while they were writing the first page.
The protagonist, Eren Yeager is shown as a weak kid in the beginning. However, by the end of the show, he comes as far as to end the entire world. This one is my personal favourite.
2. Death Note
Light Yagami, a high-school student discovers a supernatural notebook that grants its user the ability to kill.
Before I watched it myself, I was like "Nah, it'd be boring. They'll just write the names of their enemies and boom."
But it wasn't like that. How do they find their enemies' names? That's what it is all about. The battle between Light Yagami and a strange person named "L" goes on. Whoever finds the name of the other one first, wins.
3. Naruto
Story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.
Naruto is considered as one of the "big three", with the other two being One Piece and Dragon Ball.
Indeed, Naruto is a big one. With the normal series consisting of over 200 episodes and the Shippuden series of 500 episodes, you can spend a entire year watching it. And it won't bore you, you'll have lots of fun.
Notice: Over 40% of episodes in Naruto: Shippuden are filler episodes, and I recommend you to skip them. However, it is your choice if you wish to watch them or not.
4. Demon Slayer
A family is attacked by demons and only two members survive - Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, who is turning into a demon slowly. Tanjiro sets out to become a demon slayer to avenge his family and cure his sister.
Demon Slayer is often considered a "beginner" anime. While it is true, the fact that veterans can watch it too remains unchanged.
In the beginning, the protagonist, Tanjiro goes to the town for selling charcoal and making a living. However, when he arrives home, the unexpected happens. He discovers that his entire family his dead. The only survivor, his baby sister Nezuko has become a demon. So he trains to become a Demon Slayer and cure his sister.
This one's among my personal favourites too. The animation is amazing.
5. Solo Leveling
Sung Jin-woo, known as the weakest hunter, struggles to survive. After a near-death experience, however, he comes back with a mysterious program that significantly levels up his abilities.
Rated 4.9/5 on Crunchyroll.
It speaks for itself. At the time this post was written, only the first season of Solo Leveling has/had released, consisting of 12 episodes.
The protagonist of the story discovers a weird tech system that allows him to level up with missions in real life, and gain XP stuff from it.
6. Chainsaw Man
Betrayed and killed, a teenager named Denji gets revived as Chainsaw Man, a soul with a devil's heart.
The protagonist of the story, Denji, is a weird one. But you won't hate him - he's like many of us too. For a single girl, he agrees to end every devil there is. Honestly, I think that Chainsaw Man is a bit underrated.
7. Black Clover
Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus.
Black Clover is also considered as a great Anime by many. You might not have heard of it too often, but it is one of which NEEDS to be more popular.
8. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Edward and Alphonse Elric, continue their perilous journey to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone. They are seeking the magical artefact to restore their bodies after a failed alchemy experiment.
FMA: Brotherhood’s greatest strength lies in its impeccable pacing. It starts off pretty low-key – including that infamous Nina episode – and soon spirals out into epic battles as the seven Homunculus and the mysterious Father stand in Edward’s way. It’s all wrapped up in final act that is so inherently bombastic and entertaining that it could only be brought to life in anime.
9. Jujutsu Kaisen
After a boy is thrust into the world of the supernatural, he must rise to the challenge in order to prevent demons from obliterating all that he holds dear.
Jujutsu Kaisen is also about devils and demons. The characters of this Anime have different powers to beat different kinds on devils.
Notice: Jujutsu Kaisen starts from the movie 0. Many people make the mistake of starting from the TV series.
10. One Punch Man
Saitama is a strong superhero who defeats villains with just a single punch. Over time, however, he grows bored with the absence of a challenging fight.
This is a simple anime. Although it doesn't have emotions and stuff like the other ones on this list, it still turns out to be a great one.
